The Av’s tied up the series last night with a 5-1 victory over the Wild. The best of 7 series is now down to a 2 out of 3 matchup. Game 4 was very reminiscent of the Av’s / RedWing’s games of 6 years ago as the number of boarding / slashing / tripping minors were called  with great frequency. It felt like the Av’s were at at least a 1 man advantage for the bulk of the final 2 periods. 2 minutes after the game was final, several of the players were still ‘exchanging’ ideas while skating off the ice. (And by ‘exchanging’ I of course mean, ‘Throwing fists’) All in all, the fact that this game ended without an OT was nice.

The Av’s lost game 3 to the Wild last night to go down 2 games to 1 in the series. This was the 3rd game in a row to be decided in OT.

The 2008 Stanley Cup Playoffs start this week. In the Western Conf., I’ll take Detroit over Anaheim in 7 to goto the finals where they will meet the Eastern Conf champs Montreal who will take out Sidney Crosby’s Penguins.

The Major League Baseball season officially opens today. This will be the final season for the NY Mets at Shea Stadium as the new Citi Field will open next door in 2009. This is the patch that the Mets will be wearing throughout the season. NY won today on the road against the Marlins finally stopping that losing streak that they ended the ‘07 season with. (a/k/a the biggest collapse in MLB history) Let Go Mets Go!

Who knew that when you take Garfield out of the comic strip, that it would be that much more interesting. Jon really is a sad and lonely man. These books made me laugh when I was 10, but not nearly as much as they do now.  (via garfieldminusgarfield)

Starting  a new book on the drive home tonite. Was introduced to this author from one of the TWiT podcasts. I listened to “A Study in Emerald” last week to get a feel for his style. Very British. American Gods - Neil Gaiman (Wikipedia)
